3.6. F6 AUTOMATIC FILLING panel

When there are a large number of pages to be placed on sheets, manually filling in imposition sheets with mouse clicks can be inefficient. To speed up the imposition process, it is worth using the tools available in this panel.

Pressing the FILL (F6) button, which is active when PDF pages are loaded in the Table of pages and sizes for imposition, will calculate the number of sheets required. In addition, the current filling will be reset, blank sheets will be added, and they will be filled according to the settings in the panel.

The panel elements allow you to:

• specify the number of occurrences of each PDF page loaded into the Table of pages and sizes;
• select the filling mode (sequentially or in a stack);
• set the corner from which the sheets will be filled and the filling direction (rows or columns);
• select the method of filling the sheets with pages: recto and verso, recto only, or verso only.

The recto pages collected in the Table of pages and sizes are placed in double-sided sheets on recto pages or parts, while the verso pages are placed on verso pages or parts.

Example

To perform imposition, for example, of personalized recto prints with a common verso page for digital printing with duplex, you must:

• load personalized recto pages into the Table of pages and sizes;
• select the TFSG sheet type (two-sided fullsheet by side guide);
• indicate that only recto pages are loaded in the Table of pages and sizes;
• fill in the sheets.

Then add a PDF file with a common verso page to the Table of pages and sizes and, by activating the Repeat on each sheet field, fill in the verso page of any sheet. After filling in, be sure to deselect the field.
