4.7. Subpanel ELEMENTS IN PDF FORMAT

This panel allows you to place 10 elements saved in PDF format (including entire pages) on the imposition sheet.

Selecting an element, placing it on a sheet, dividing it into sheet pages and sheets is done in the same way as for text frames and codes (chapter 4.13. Placing drawn markers on selected sheets and pages). The difference is that instead of text fields, there are file names. If the selected files are multi-page, the first page of the file is placed on the imposition sheet.

PDF elements are placed in their original sizes, but they can be changed in the same way as codes: PDF elements are scaled to the values specified by Width H [mm] and Height V [mm], provided that these values are greater than 0. If both values are equal to 0, the element is inserted in its original size (without scaling). If one of these values is equal to 0, the other value is calculated proportionally.

For PDF elements, it is also possible to specify whether the page (element) from the PDF file should be drawn under the pages being imposed – this implements the subprint function for impositioned pages.

Below are several controls defining the subprint drawn under PDF elements. The subprint sizes are determined by specifying margins around the elements to be drawn.

PDF elements used in the project are saved in the project or template file. If these elements are missing when the project is opened, the program recreates them automatically. If the missing PDF files are recreated in the MyImpozycjoner\PDF folder, the user is not notified.

If the original location of the files is different and they cannot be found, they are restored to a temporary folder. In this case, the user receives a special message.

The PDF ELEMENTS subpanel can be used for die imposition.

When performing the imposition of the box image (as in the example in section 3.4. Panel F4 OFFSETS|IMPOSITION OF CUTTING DIES), load the directory image into the selected series in the PDF ELEMENTS subpanel. If the option to link the X and Y positions to the print area is selected, it will be possible to select the Add to each grid cell option. With the CC node selected, the die will appear on each cell grid. Additionally, selecting the Add page rotate option will rotate it by the same angle as the cell grid on which it is drawn.

By loading a PDF file into another element, e.g., with an already assembled die cut (CC node, link to the center of the print area), you can adjust the imposition of the printed boxes. To do this, change the values of the spacing between columns and rows accordingly and move the columns and rows to match your die cut.
